North East West Kerry Development (NEWKD)

NEWKD are an Irish local development company active in north, east and west Kerry area. With offices in Tralee, Listowel and Casteisland, NEWKD’s objective is to promote and support social, enterprise and community development. NEWKD helps manage and deliver a number of social supports in their catchment area, including the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), the Strengthening Families Programme and the Tralee Community Drugs Initiative. NEWKD is also responsible for implementing the LEADER 2014-2020 Programme within the north, east and west Kerry area.
NEWKD is a not-for-profit organisation that is supported by the Government of Ireland.
West Limerick Resources (WLR)

KPMG Future Analytics (KPMG-FA)

KPMG-FA is a consultancy specialising in strategic spatial urban and rural planning, research and economic development. They advocate a robust, evidence-based approach to decision, incorporating the collation, analysis and visualisation of a broad range of spatial and socio-economic data and an innovate approach to community facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
KPMG-FA was presented with an ‘Ireland’s Champions of EU Research’ Award in 2012 by President Michael D. Higgins and Enterprise Ireland. KPMG-FA also secured a highly commended award at the 2020 Irish Planning Institute Awards for work on a nationally significant project “Rejuvenating Ireland’s Small-Town Centres – A Call to Action” for the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI).
FAC has extensive experience of working closely with LEADER Partnerships and Local Development partnerships to assess the socio-economic impact of their programme activities, and to devise innovative strategies to engender further local community growth and development.
University College Dublin (UCD)

Dr Pilla is an Associate Professor in Smart Cities and Urban Environment in UCD. His work focuses on building better cities through technology, innovation and citizen participation. His area of expertise is smart cities and in specific geospatial analysis and modelling of urban dynamics, which involves the development of GIS based models and decision support tools, in order to pre-empt the impacts resulting from the interactions between human population and the environment. He uses a range of pervasive and community sensing applications as part of Living Lab activities to engage local communities in co-developing more sustainable cities.
Dr. Pilla has successfully secured securing over €10 million in European funds in the last 5 years. He is the Coordinator and Principal Investigator of iSCAPE focusing on smart control of air pollution. He is co-developing with citizens and local stakeholders nature-based solutions in Dublin as part of OPERANDUM focusing on reducing flood risk. He is also empowering local communities by providing them with the tools (low cost sensors for air quality and traffic counts) and skills to achieve a more sustainable and healthier local environment as part of the H2020 WeCount (Principal Investigator for UCD).
